Dear Middle School Band Parents,
The Middle School Fall Band Concert will
be Tuesday November 7, 2006. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm
in the Middle School Gym. The concert this year will feature
only the Middle School Bands.
All of the students will be required to
attend the concert and it will be part of their grade. The
students will also need to wear nice clothes. We prefer dress
slacks and a button up shirt (a tie would be very nice) for the
young men, and a dress (slacks and a blouse for clarinet
players) for the young ladies. The most important issue is that
the students look as nice a possible for the concert. Please
avoid wearing jeans if it is at all possible.
The students must stay for the entire
concert. No student should leave until the 8th Grade band has
finished their performance. It is disrespectful to the
performers in the other bands for you and your child to leave
after their performance. However, I know that some situations
may arise that you are unsure about so if you have a question or
concern, please contact us at 816-633-1500. We will be glad to
discuss some options with you.
The 6th Grade Band will need to report to
the concert at 6:15 pm. The 7th and 8th Grade Bands do not need
to report to the concert until 6:30 pm. Because it is a band
concert only the 7th and 8th grade bands will be seated in the
gym while the 6th grade band performs and the 6th grade will sit
together as a band while the 7th and 8th grade bands perform.
The concert will be finished around
8:00-8:15 pm depending on the time needed to set up each band.
We would also appreciate anyone who would be willing to help
clean up the gym following the concert.
We look forward to seeing all of you at
our first concert this year on November 7, 2006 at 7:00 pm in
the Middle School Gym.
