General Information
The Odessa Band of Distinction ("BOD")
website is offered as a resource for communicating current
information about the instrumental music organizations in the
Odessa R-7 Schools. Information presented is updated as often as
possible on a voluntary basis by band parents, through shared
communication between parents, students, band directors and
administrative staff directly involved with the BOD program. The
website is not affiliated with the R-7 District in any way, and
is not dependent on R-7 resources or funds.
Privacy
Safe internet practices dictate
that personally identifying information not be given when
displaying photographs of students in the Band program. As such,
pictures will not be accompanied by names of students at any
time. If you prefer that even unidentified pictures of your
students or yourselves not be displayed on the website, please
contact Belinda Johnson (webmaster) at
belinda@prodsol.net to
have them removed. Pictures are displayed in the interest of
sharing excitement about our student's accomplishments and
promoting the excellent band program we all enjoy. Pictures are
welcomed from any band parent who would like to share. Please
contact the webmaster for additional information.
Forums Use
The Odessa Bands interactive
message board ("Forums") is provided for the use of students,
parents, faculty, and other interested persons directly involved
with the Band program. Participants must provide a working email
address on their forum registration, and children under 13 must
provide parental consent to participate. Registration is free,
but is moderated (requires manual approval/activation) to reduce
the potential for spam and outside advertisers. Although filters
are in place to prevent blatant obscenities in forum posting, it
is possible that potentially questionable content may be posted
in the forums. Any and all forum posts may be removed at the
discretion of the administrator, for any reason and at any time,
and without notification to the poster. There are
