Odessa High School Band of
Distinction and the Odessa Middle School Eighth Grade Band
earned top honors Saturday at the annual Carrollton Band Day.
High School band earned second in
the parade, first in the field, outstanding Color Guard in class
4A and were named Grand Champions of the event. Grand
Championship is awarded to the band with the highest combined
parade and field score of all bands in classes 4A, 5A and 6A.
This is the third time Odessa has earned the Grand Champion
honors, and the second straight year for the band to achieve
this highly coveted award.
The band performed “American
Salute” by Morton Gould in the parade and performed their field
show “Rising.”
Field music was arranged by Kirby Spayde, assistant director.
Band is under the field direction of Ethan Anglemyer, Brandon
Clark, and Andrew Godsey.

Pennington, Matt Lannin, Austin Snyder, Dustin Kloeppel, Chris
Short, Marshall Danner, Courtney Corbit and Rachelle Geddes.
The Eight Grade Band, often
referred to as "Mini-B.O.D." performed Mike Story's "Aztec Gold"
and was awarded first in the parade competition for 3A and 4A
Middle school bands.
High School Band of Distinction
will perform their show Saturday at the Odessa Marching
Invitational. Their next competition is October 7 at Blue
Springs High School Ashton Campus.
